Institutional Biotech Hub

Institutional Biotech Hub of Gurucharan College, Silchar was established in the year 2011 with financial grants from Department of Biotechnology (DBT), New Delhi , India. The mandate of this centre is to provide infrastructural facilities to the undergraduate students, research scholars and faculty members of the host institute and nearby institutes to carry out their research. Every year a good number of research papers are published in peer-reviewed journals. Faculty members research scholars and UG students present their papers in National/ International seminar and conferences. The centre has collaboration with University and other Biotech Hubs of Barak Valley region. Several workshops/ hands-on training/ lecture and outreach programmes are conducted throughout the year. The hub also provides services to schools of this region under BLiSS programme of DBT. High School level and Higher secondary students are also trained on the basic applications and scope of Biological research.
